The Offspring brought the 90s into the 21st centur
I had the pleasure of seeing them perform at the Warped Tour 05, where they played the required half-hour set, and this time they had the opportunity to delve deeper into their repertoire. It was a great experience hearing my new favorite song, "Half-Truism," especially since it's not a mainstream hit that everyone is familiar with. Noodles, who must be in his 50s given that he used to be the band's janitor, brings boundless energy and humor to the stage. Dexter, despite his age, still delivers a captivating performance that resonates with fans of all ages, whether they discovered the band through "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace" or have been following them since "Ignition" or earlier. Although it was disappointing that they didn't include any tracks from their debut or "Ignition," it was satisfying to hear them at the Warped Tour. The piano rendition of "Gone Away" was not only deeply moving but also showcased Dexter's versatility. I was relieved that they didn't play "Original Prankster" or "Hit That." Additionally, The Dropkick Murphy's performance was outstanding, and Time Again also put on a solid show. Singing along to every song with the band is always enjoyable, and witnessing the unexpected reactions of those unfamiliar with their tongue-in-cheek tracks like "Pretty Fly" adds to the fun - seeing them suddenly jump up and maybe even headbang after sitting idly.
